This category celebrates tools that optimise scheduling, team operations, data management, compliance, and overall organisational efficiency.
 
  • Media & Broadcast: recognises innovative technologies that enhance the creation, distribution, and monetisation of live sports and entertainment content. This category honours solutions that elevate the viewing experience through advanced production tools, streaming platforms, immersive media, and next-gen broadcast capabilities.
 
  • Fan Engagement: recognises innovative technologies that enhance the connection between fans and their favourite teams, events, or venues. This category honours solutions that deliver personalised, interactive, and immersive experiences across both digital and physical touchpoints.
 
  • Esports, Fantasy and Gamification: recognises outstanding technology solutions that drive fan participation and engagement through competitive gaming, fantasy sports platforms, and gamified experiences. This category celebrates innovation that blends entertainment, interactivity, and digital engagement to grow and connect sports audiences.
 
  • Fitness & Wellness: honours innovative technologies that empower individuals and communities to improve physical health, mental well-being, and overall performance. This category celebrates solutions that enhance training, recovery, monitoring, and holistic wellness through digital platforms, wearables, and smart fitness systems.
 
  • Data Analytics: recognises technologies that leverage data to drive smarter decision-making, performance optimisation, and strategic insights in sport and entertainment. This category celebrates innovative use of analytics, AI, and data visualisation to unlock value on and off the field.
 
  • Equipment & Apparel: honours innovation in the design, technology, and performance of sports gear, wearables, and apparel. This category celebrates products that enhance athlete safety, comfort, and performance through advanced materials, smart features, or functional design. 

Judging Criteria

ANZSTA submissions will be judged according to:

  • Originality and the degree of innovation of the project
  • User Benefits: What effect did the project have on its target market
  • Uptake/acceptance: How widely has the project been developed for and adopted by potential users/customers
  • Commercial Success: What commercial returns has the project generated (where appropriate)
 

Judging Process

Judging of the ANZSTA’s will take place in two stages.

Stage One – Shortlisting

All completed nomination forms will be reviewed by a judging panel for to determine the shortlist of top three nominations in each award category.

Stage Two – Judging

Shortlisted nominations will be reviewed by the judging panel of industry experts.

Each judge will score the shortlisted nominations separately and the judges will then come together to identify the winner in each award category.

The judges reserve the right to reject any nomination that is likely to negatively impact the reputation of the sports technology ecosystem or on any organisation or individual, or any nomination in which a nominee is subject to disciplinary procedures.

The judges reserve the right to reassign any nomination to a category they judge to be more appropriate than that in which the entry has been submitted

The judges’ decision is final and no communication will be entered into regarding any award decisions.
